Teachers Go Crazy

Just last night, Teresa and I attended a end of the year party for her school. She’d been subbing for most of the second half of the year and made a few good friends. One of her colleagues was kind enough to throw a party for the entire faculty and staff. She even invited significant others. It was nice to attend a party post work.

The location of the party was far Southeast Portland. We drove about twenty or thirty minutes outside the city. The neighborhood is perfectly manicured. The houses are sprinkled up and down rolling hills. Across the valley, you can see the peak of Mt. Hood. The view from the deck was amazing.

Teresa and I arrived a bit late, but the spread was immense. There was no shortage of snacks, sandwiches, desserts and drinks. I had a ton of brownies, some punch (jungle juice) and a couple beers.

The highlight of the party was Rock Band. This video game allows players to form an entire rock band by playing all instruments and singing. To make things even more interesting, this house had a full on home theatre. The TV might have been 10 feet by 5 feet—very large.

Can you imagine your Elementary School Principle belting out The Black Crowes or Jon Bon Jovi? I’ll tell you, I’ve sen it happen. This game really made the party come alive. Before it was all over, there were tequila shots passed around the room. These teachers know how to get crazy. I had an awesome time.
