Backyard BBQ Kevin Style
Kevin's Birthday was last week. Happy 29!!! He invited everyone to his new house in Columbia for a backyard barbecue. I was exited to see my friends from Annapolis. I barely every get out of the city. I love where I live, but it has made me very lazy about driving. I really don't want to drive anywhere. This was special. I was excited.
The party was too start at 4pm, but I didn't arrive until after 6pm. I was playing soccer in Riverside park. It was cool. Everyone was still hanging out on the deck. Kevin and Jen were excited that I stopped by the party. Notably in attendance were Pete, Matt, Megan, Bennan, Jaime, Ritchie, Eric, Eric's wife, and Kevin's friend's from medical school.
I was served a huge piece of chicken, salad and potatoes. It was delicious. It was great to catch up with Jaime and Ritchie. They are getting their wedding plans finalized. Ritchie was telling me about all the improvements to my old home on North Homeland. Women have that way about things. Matt, Megan and Bennan are doing also doing well. Megan is looking great, and they are excited for their second child. Only about a month and half until the due date. I also chatted it up with Mr. Brown. He is retiring soon, and he was making me jealous with his year long vacation plans. Finally, Kevin and Jenn are doing great. They are adjusting to 120 hour work weeks (how?!!), but they really love their jobs as doctors. Its very interesting to hear Kevin describe the relationship they have to patients. How each patient is the responsibility of a single doctor. Each doctor stays with the patient to for hours even days to ensure their health. It's good to know they are making a difference and enjoying their jobs.
I didn't stay too late. Teresa was feeling ill so, I didn't have a designated driver back up to Bmore. I drove back around 10pm. It was a great night in a great location. Kevin and Jenn's back deck is so sweet. The evening weather was perfect. Happy Birthday Kevin!
