Celebrating A New Beginning
Every new beginning should have a celebration. If anything, it is a good excuse to party. Vinnie and I have decided to form a partnership and build a new company. I'll discuss more of this in the future, but I hope it will be fun and rewarding. The process will require a lot of hard work, but you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet.
On Saturday, Vinnie came up to Baltimore with his wife Susan. Susan and Teresa spent the afternoon walking around Baltimore. Vinnie and I were hashing out a business plan. Sounds like the girls had more fun. Anyway, we had to reward ourselves after a long afternoon of work.
Vinnie and Susan had dinner with his mother while; I played soccer in Riverside Park. I have not played in one month. I popped an ankle ligament and have been trying to heal. I only started running just last week. It has been tuff to keep away from the game, but I don’t want to re-aggravate my ankle. I was able to put for 60 to 70 percent of my effort, but my ankle went lame with sudden movements. I was excited about my first reward, attempting to play soccer. I wasn't thrilled with the results, but only with time will the ankle fully heal.
We rendezvoused back on Clement Street for the second part of our reward - a night out in Baltimore. After a much deserve nap, Teresa and I were ready for the evening. Ryan joined the fun, and the five of us listened to music for an hour. We collectively decided to take a cab to Fells Point and check out The Waterfront Hotel. This is one of my favorite bars in Baltimore because; their live music is impeccable. A venue of this sort does not exist in Federal Hill. We have the 8×10, but we don not have a bar for local musicians. Sometimes I do not agree with the musician's style, but they are always talented.
The band, mostly played country and rockabilly. The sound was decent, but I would have liked to hear rock 'n roll. It is always a bit crowded around 11pm. We were offered a table and jumped at the proposition. For some reason, balloon animals were everywhere. Susan proved crafty with the balloon dog. She contorted this fake animal into some hysterical shapes.
During our impromptu clown show, the downstairs began to thin. I have noticed this tends to happen later in the evening. Normally, this optimal for a good dance session, but you need to rock 'n roll for that adventure. Tonight, we just enjoyed the last few songs.
I thoroughly enjoyed the entire day. I am glad we were able to get started on our new venture. It was even more exciting to take the trip to Fells and The Waterfront. At the start of something special, you must reward yourself. It was great to share the joy with Vinnie and Susan.
