Celebrating In Locust Point
I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to Ritchie, Matt, and Denby. They all have turned one year older. I guess its OK to devluge the ages of 26 and 27, but are we getting to the point were this is no longer accepted? We'll some people remain 30 until they are 40? We are not going to worry about that, and start celebrating.
On Saturday afternoon, Matt and Megan drove up the big city to see our new house. I was excited because; its done! By done, I mean everything is put in its place. I still have a few things lying about the office, but this is to be expected. I'll have to take some pictures to post here. Matt and Megan seemed to like the place, and the location. I know, I know, I keep on talking about it without a proper introduction. Soon...
I had choose a local place for lunch. It came recommended by my old neighbor Ron, The Hull Street Blues Cafe. It is only five or so blocks from my place in Locust Point. Funny enough, Matt knew the owner, and said it was an excellent place to grab some lunch. The cafe is located in a converted row home or two and features a small bar with a couple of dining rooms. It was pleasent enough for our afternoon get together.
We sat in the cafe dining room and ordered appetizers and meals. I was impressed with the Maryland Crab Soup, and I really like the crab dip. It was a thicker style then what they serve in Annapolis. Matt held true to our roots and continued to tout Pusser's as the best. Matt and I ordered a new beer to us, Resurrection. I believe this is a House Beer from another Baltimore joint, The Brewery's Art. I love this beer. Great taste. Matt and I had a few, maybe a few too many. Good thing the woman were able to take us home.
All and all, it was a great afternoon. I am really enjoying the ability to find new nooks and crannies of Federal Hill and the surrounding Baltimore. Every weekend has the promise of something else cool. I am glad Matt and Megan were able to stop by and gave us a chance to celebrate his birthday. I hope that many more people can take the time to help us enjoy the new spot.
