More Birthday Celebrations
Last weekend was a sandwich of more birthday celebrations. I say this because; the birthday fun took place on Saturday in Philadelphia. Friday, I continued to spend time with Tony and Vinnie. Sunday, I wanted to make it to Roedown. It was a long weekend, but well worth it.
Friday, Tony, Vinnie, and Chris picked me up at my house. We drove down to Riordan's for dinner and awaited Theo. It was a slow start to an early evening. I needed to wake up from the long work week. Eventually, we stopped by Griffin's. The music was loud and we stood up so, I was awake. I was wearing a Swiss t-shirt, and this girl came up to me asking if it was for the red cross. I explained it was for Switzerland, one of my favorite countries. The girl, Suzanne, was from Switzerland. She nannies outside Annapolis, and I think was trying to test my knowledge of the shirt. I closed the night down talking to her before grabbing a cab back home.
Saturday, I was up early - 930am. I ran, then hightailed it up to Philadelphia by 1230pm. Rob, Jeff, and Mark were already relaxing in the backyard. We planned to continue that activity later, but we had some errands to run. A quick stop by the distributor was the only hiccup in getting to the backyard. We gave the stereo its summer home in the kitchen and proceed to listen to the Allman Brothers and Black Crowes until sundown. It was the nicest day of 2005.
Into the evening, everyone began to get ready to meet the girls down in Old City. The plan was Mexican Post then Drinkers. Jeff, Mark, and Rob left sometime around 9. I waited for Teresa to get in from up north. Once she arrived, we drove down to Old City. Its a pain trying to get to this part of the city on a Saturday. On account of the weather, I think it was even more crowded then normal. We passed so many long lines into stupid places on the way to the Mexican Post. I was excited to see it mostly empty. We were greeted by Anna, Jen, Katie, Gina, Heather, and Herczeg. Jeff and Rob ran off to another bar. We didn't stay long and went to find Alex.
Alex was at a bar called Cuba Libre, but no one really wanted to stay there. The line was really long, and it looked really crowded. We continued on to Drinkers, but it was so crowded as well. The basement felt like a party at my house in college. I was fortunate to snag a table upstairs, and the good times began. We all sat at and around the table for the rest of the enjoyable evening. Oh yea, this was a semi-birthday celebration, right? Everyone wished me a happy belated birthday. I wished Jeff and Heather a happy birthday as well. Theirs are set for this week.
Sunday, I had planned on maybe waking up early. Roedown was scheduled in Annapolis for 10am. That was not possible two days in a row. I didn't drag myself out of bed till past noon. We all went for some lunch at Wawa. After a fun time messing up each others orders on the push button machines, we went back to the house to eat. The second nicest day of 2005 was in full swing. Can this weather get any better? I started to make my way south around 330pm. I wasn't back in time for the burnfest that was Roedown, but Pete Heidi and I went to Pusser's Landing for dinner. As an appetizer, we dangled out feet over the dock with Painkillers in hand. You can't get better then the harbor at sunset. We shared some tasty real appetizers and desserts for dinner. It was a good Sunday Night Meal.
Another long weekend in the books. Its wednesday, and I want to start it again now! I guess thats what happens when you become a working stiff. Oh well. I am happy Tony and Vinnie are doing alright. I hope their family continues to heal. Happy Belated Birthday to Heather and Jeff! Yay mid-20s! Sorry to the Annapolis crew I was too lazy to get down to Roedown. I know everyone had a great time. Thanks to Pete and Heidi for continuing the party into the evening. This whole spring weather thing is really nice. I hope it doesn't stop anytime soon.

Craziness...that was a random group of people that ended up together at Drinkers...If you don't mind, I'd like to sum up Saturday with this stream of consciousness series of events: Distributor --> Backyard Sunburn --> Caronas --> Music --> Playing Ball in the street --> Chimichongas --> Mexican Post --> Angry Waitress and Gina and Heather taking her side (initially)--> Belgian Tavern --> Perrotta and Long Haired Bednarek --> Phi Kap Andy?? --> Alex --> Drinkers --> Public urination --> Stolen Tablecloth???wtf --> singing Dead Flowers --> Shoppy's party (where I felt like an alien) --> Almost getting a swirly --> Throwing Robesch to the ground --> All Star Chicken Fingers --> Big Lebowski --> sleep... like I said...crazy...can't wait to do it again
wow ben sherman windbreaker, well summed up. I don't remember dead flowers on the way back but i do remember thinking that the i-pod was the hardest thing to figure out at 3:30am. i think the weird stuff in the toilet was eye make-up.i think. how i found you guys at drinkers i will never know i guess you're getting predictable. the last thing i recall from the night is "I was born in a cross fire hurrizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"
