Happy Birthday To Me!

March 30th - My Birthday. What a great day. This one is quite special. Today, I turn 25. A whole quarter century. Crazy. I normally don't pay close attention to post times, but look at this one... 1042am. At exactly this time, I was born 25 years ago in Easton, Maryland. It was Palm Sunday and it happened in the same Hospital as Harold Baines birth on Maryland's Eastern Shore.

Speaking of people related to my Birthday, I share this day with some really cool individuals. Vincent Van Gogh was born on this day in 1853. Francisco de Goya also began his life on this day but in 1746. His "Fight with Cudgels" stands out in my mind from the Prado in Madrid. Eric Clapton is celebrating his 60th birthday. The good music doesn't stop there with Tracy Chapman, Norah Jones, and Graeme Edge all planning Birthday Parties. With this good company, ya figure, I could tear up some blues, but this just isn't true. So Sad.

This day is also remembered in history. The late great Hunter S. would appreciate that ether was first used as an anaesthetic during an operation on March 30th, 1842. Alaska was purchased from the Russians in 1867. Ronald Regan's assination attempt took place on my First Birthday. In entertainment news, the Sex Pistols played their first show at London's Club 100 to only 50 people in 1976. One of my favorite movies, "The Silence of the Lambs", cleaned up at the 1992 Academy Awards. It took home Best Picture as well as Best Actor and Actress for Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster.

Enough about everyone else, back to me! I have to say thanks to all my friends for the wonderfully kind words throughout the day. It really is a great feeling to know y'all were thinking about me. Thanks again. After and arduous day of work, I battled the traffic to my parent's house. I was early for dinner so, I ate a healthy appetizer of chocolate cookies while finishing Ladder 49. I started it Sunday. Its real sad.

About 630pm, everyone began to get home. Gran, Milly, and Bob arrived from Silver Spring. Jocelyn and Dad got home from school and work. My mom was cooking Paella. I couldn't wait. It smelled soo good. Dinner was also served with broccoli and salad. I was so full (maybe from the 9 cookies pre-dinner), but I was ready for dessert. My mom had an ice cream cake for me!!! It had chocolate ice cream on top with vanilla on the bottom and cookie crunch in the middle. It even said, in blue icing, "Happy Birthday Simeon." So awesome. After dessert, I opened presents. Milly gave me a photo album and a box of Russell Stovers. My Gran gave me some food. I got some socks. It was an interesting array of gifts.

I had to say goodnight just before 9pm. Everyone was getting tired. I really enjoyed the dinner and time with family. I have seen them so much over the past week! Thanks for all the lovely gifts and encouraging words to take into the new year. I had a very Happy Birthday.

I find it surprising that Silence of the Lambs is one of your favorite movies, considering that whenever a remotely scary movie came on (and remotely scary for Simeon's standards includes The Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland) you would run out of the room like a little girl screaming about how much you "just don't like to deal with" scary movies. Oh well, happy birthday anyway

Who is posting as me? technically simeon did live with me for a couple months. this is odd. No one unsightly body hair could ever be devistatingly handsome. Then again neither can someone who brakes out into hives.....poor jeff. Happy Birthday to our little B-logger.

Ok Rob...if you're going to rip on my "boyish good looks" then say that no one with red hair and and a physique that would allow him to stunt double for the olsen twins could ever be devistatingly hansom...that i would take...Do NOT accuse me of having hives, you mutant...happy b-day (yesterday) simeon...

Says Harold Baines was born in St. Michaels. I don't know, I don't live there.
