Fantastic Weekend
I was shaky the whole week. I was trying to skim off the post Brazil shock. How could one enter back into American society after an experience overload such as Carnaval? It was not easy. I needed freedom and no responsibility -- quick. The weekend supplied enough of this to get me by for now.
I edited pictures on Friday night while I waited for Teresa to arrive. She was stopping by for the extended President's Day weekend. I finagled a partial day for Monday. Yippie! She arrived after 11pm, and I shared my trip through silly stories and photos. Good Times.
Saturday was a lazy lazy day. I needed nothing to do. I got ever ounce of nothing to do. For the night cap, I had dinner with Denby, Jason, and Teresa over at Davis. The company and food were not comparable. I felt bad for poor Denby. Her children gave her a bit of a virus. Silly kids. She needs to be in tip-top shape to finish up grade school!
Sunday was Race Day. Thats right, the start of the NASCAR season. We had people over for the Daytona 500. Denby, Jason, Matt, Megan, Ritchie, Jaime, Kevin, Jen, Teresa, and I sat around the living room for the Great American Race. Not everyone was excited as some, but good times were had by all. The finish was so exciting when it came down to the last five laps. Ritchie took the gambling pot. It was a good afternoon.
Monday, I attempted to work after I said my good byes. I was happy to see Teresa for the weekend. I think she had a wonderful time down in Annapolis. I hope everyone had fun at the Daytona Party! I know the results could have been better. No one except Bob likes the Rainbow Warrior. Oh well, this weekend was exactly what I needed to slowly get back into the crappiness that is normal life. A good friend shared this quote, its how I feel now. Just substitute beer for travel and real life for thing...
"Homer: Okay, brain. You don't like me, and I don't like you, but let's get through this thing and then I can continue killing you with beer.
Homer's Brain: It's a deal!"
