Tony & Jill Are In Town

Tony and Jill flew down from Alaska just before Christmas. He is on leave from the Air Force for about a week. It has been great to see them! They both really love the Annapolis area. His next transfer will be in 2006. A few strings have to be pulled, but it looks like he might be lucky enough to be stationed at Andrews. Everyone is moving to Annapolis! Its the hot thing to do...

Christmas night, I stopped by his father's place to say hello. They were all along so, we went back to my house. I was excited to show them the place. Tony was astonished with the five bedrooms! I know, I was too when I first saw the house. Its not any of my doing. I just live here. We relaxed for a few hours and caught up on the happenings in our lives. I should them pictures from the Christmas Party and Christmas at my parents. Soon after 8pm, we left the house for Downtown.

I was surprised to see the streets so empty. Most establishments were closed. This did not bode well for our plans. Griffin's was open so, we went inside for a late dinner. Crab all the way around. Tony and I had Chesapeake Chicken Sandwiches, and Jill had the Crab Dip. I had been eating Crab for a week straight. After the meal, we went to pick up Theo in Eastport. Downtown was still dead, but we had high hopes. After all, it was Saturday night.

We went into O'briens, and the front was packed. Plenty of tables were unoccupied in the back. We sat down, and talked for sometime. We also waited for Gina arrive. Tony had not seen Gina in a long time. He was the reason we met back in college. They both went to St. Mary's. She stopped in after 10pm. From here, things got a little wacky.

We started bouncing around like a bar tour. Our next stop was Armadillo's. We stayed for a few drinks. Jill and Gina had some time to talk at the bar. I was happy they enjoyed each other's company. Tony and stood by and talked about life. Yes, way to deep for a Saturday night, but I only see him a few times a year. We then walked all the way up Main Street to Acme. I never thought I would get Gina back inside this place. It wasn't too bad. We had plenty of room back at the DJ booth. Theo ordered some Natty Bo's, and we chilled. At some point, we had to go back down to O'briens. I went with Gina, and then we went back to Acme? Crazy. Eventually, I drove Jill and Tony back to his father's. The night started slow, but it gained momentum.

The fun continued on Tuesday. Tony called me up looking for something to do. What do all the cool kids do on Tuesdays in Annapolis? Go see the JarFlys. I have not been for a few months. I miss being at Armadillo's ever Tuesday. The first set is always decent, but you have to stay for the second. It is always better. By then, its 1am. You can't function at work the next day, and you still have three days till the weekend. That is killer. This week is different. The last week of the year. It was time to have some fun.

I picked up the happy couple at Tony's father's. We stopped by Fridays for a quick meal then headed Downtown. The cover charge seems to fluctuate. It was only $3 this time. Tony and Jill were surprised the upstairs was packed. I was a bit worried because; I knew they did not like a crowded room. Although, the music was great and we found seats in the back. I saw Michelle introduced her to Tony and Jill. We talked about her house in Nova Scotia. The house should be complete next summer. That would be a sweet trip. We also saw a bunch of Tony's friends from High School. I got met some really cool kids, but we saw some annoying people as well. As predicted, the second set was amazing. Should the Jarflys get big? I say yes because; they deserve it. On the other hand, they are a little gem in our town. Maybe we should keep them for ourselves.

I took Tony and Jill back to his fathers then I went home. What a fantastic couple of days. I really hope they are able to move down here in a few years. Maybe I will still be here? Who knows... I am good for two more years unless something big happens. You just never know do you? I am looking forward to spending NYE with Tony and his family. Its all up in the air as of now. The next 24-48 hours should be interesting. I am just glad they are in town only if for just over a week.
