Midnight Madness In Annapolis
Midnight Madness conjurs up visions of basketball. Doesn't it? That is all I would associate to this combination of words until I was informed. Midnight Madness has another meaning to many Annapolitan's. A few Thursdays before Christmas, all the shops in Downtown are open until Midnight. Now do you see? Denby's parents and friends have a tradition tied to this shopping extravaganza. It all went down last night.
Of course, this event is mainly geared toward women. How many guys really want to walk around shopping all night? At least it isn't the mall. That place is Hades. I swear it. Griffin's to the rescue! Mr. Reed arrived near 3pm to steal two corner tables by the window. This gave the group ample view of the bar and shopping traffic. He proceed to guard his claim till after 10pm.
Ritchie and I were thankful for his diligence. We had a slamming table waiting for us upon our 8pm arrival. I missed the O.C. and North Shore, but I'll get all the dirty details from Gina. We ordered Chesapeake Chicken Sandwiches, and listen to all the men complain about their women spending their money. Ah, great times had by all. At least Ritchie and I are in the clear for the foreseeable future. I have to thank Mr. Reed. He was so very kind in picking up our tab. I'm already looking forward to next year!
