post hopefully edited to be work safe

Denby's legendary S*x Toy Christmas Party rocked our world last Saturday evening. The venue changed for the fourth time? We threw down at 9 North Homeland. People were in attendance from NY, NJ, PA, MD, Bmore, and Napptown. I had been looking forward to this event for months. It was somewhat stressful, but everything feel into place.

Lets preface the party, shall we. It's a Denby tradition that dates back to circa 1998. The idea is to have good friends, good food, formal dress, good alcohol, and cr@zy s e x t0ys to celebrate Christmas. Interesting yes? The s e x t0ys come into play via a White Elephant Gift Exchange. This normally leads to mayhem that in the past has broken couches, embarrassed car salesman, and skinned knees. Of course, we wait till a good porition of the alcohol is gone before commencing the exchange.

The opening of the party is spent mingling around a top notch spread of food. Denby coordinates a group of women to prepare awesome finger food and desserts. Mainstays include Mini Beef Wellingtons, Pigs In A Blanket, Denby's famous Crab Dip, Deviled Eggs, and Twice Baked Potatoes. This year Gina, Heidi, and Megan helped. Respectively, they prepared a Vegetable Tray, Spicy Dip with Scoops, and lots of Desserts. I was impressed with each dish! The Chocolate Covered Cherries were my favorite. Between eating too much food and helping Denby finish preparing, I really enjoyed greeting everyone. I'll have to be honest, I was nervous.

As everyone finished with the heavy orderves, the party moved into the downstairs. I had spent a good part of the day Martha Stewartizing the place. Everything was cleaned. I hooked Eddie up with a Santa Hat. I hung stockings on the wall for Ritchie and I. The Christmas Cards were arranged. The tree was watered, and the dollar store decorations double checked. Denby even leant me some Christmas Music to load up a iTunes Party Shuffle. I hope everyone enjoyed it.

Now the drinks began to flow. Everyone brought their choice of spirits, and we purchased a large number of new glasses. I had so much fun joking around with everyone and snapping some photos with my new camera. Ritchie also took some shots with his new digs. I'll let the gallery speak for itself.

I'll take a moment to highlight the $#X T o y exchange. I give Pete the award for most creative gift. A mechanical toy mouse that is meant for a cat. As a $ e x T0y it can be used for $(*#_%? The dirtiest gift was probably the handheld V. The most disgusting thing I saw all night was a d|ld0 break the back out of the V. Silly friends I do have...

I'd like say thanks to everyone for coming! This might have been one of the best years on record. I hope everyone had as much fun as me. I'm already looking forward to help host next years bash! No messing around here in Annapolis with this group of Kids.

The pictures look great! Thanks again, Denby & Co! Teresa & I had a blast this past weekend! The ride back to NYC, however, was pretty brutal (4.5 hours hungover driving in the rain = not fun).
